Horse Racing Winning System

I’ve always been a fan of going to the track. I really enjoy betting on the horses, and there’s no better thrill than heading home a winner.

I would be lying if I told you I was a winner every time. Many days I’ve left the track empty handed, but luckily I’ve never lost my shirt.

I love the thrill of punting on a race, but it’s not a hobby I can afford to do on a regular basis. I always went to the track with a “donation” I was willing to give for the fun of playing the ponies.

One day while surfing around on the internet, I bumped into a book titled How to “Place Bet” on Favorites for a Living. The sales page claims that the system has an 85.92% winning rate, and a 96.35% place rate (meaning the horse would finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd).

Those are statistics that jumped right out at me, so I decided to read a little further in. After going through the sales letter, I was very interested in learning more about the product.

The price was reasonable; at $47 it wasn’t much more than a cheap dinner with my wife and kids. What finally drew me in was that it came with an 8 week, no questions asked, money back guarantee.

The guy must really be confident in what he had to offer; I was going to test out the system to see if it worked. If not, I would get my money back. Easy enough, huh?

The book was available for instant download, which was great, so I jumped right into the system to see what it was all about.

The initial information seemed a little too simple. The concept of the program is to take the favorite in the race to “place” (or to “show” as we say here in the United States). I couldn’t see how that would be a money making event, because show bets on a favorite don’t give you much of a payout.

The next part of the system is to take each of the favorites on the day and apply a system of rules against it to eliminate certain risk factors. Once these risks are eliminated, the remaining horses become an absolute certainty to make you money.

Using this system, and statistical analysis, the author shows a return of $12.83 for every $10 of “Win” bets placed, or a $2.83 profit. Surprisingly, because of the increased winning percentage of betting to “Show” (horse finishing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd), the average return on a $10 bet was $15.40, or a $5.40 profit.

After reading through the process, the light bulb went on. Why waste my time and money betting on long shots when I could follow this safe, quick, and easy method that’s guaranteed to make money? It seems to take all of the risk out of the equation.

The second part of the system is the way it reinvests your winnings back into your “betting bank.” It outlines what portion of your betting bank to wager on each race. This helps to bankroll your gambling for the odd occasion where your horse doesn’t come in. You can have all the information in the world at your disposal, but sometimes Lady Luck rears her head into the equation. The system doesn’t guarantee a 100% success rate.

One thing to keep in mind is that you won’t be able to bet every race on the card. The system is in place to weed out those favorites who are deemed to be a risky investment. It can be frustrating not to be in on every race, but remember, the goal is to make money.

I love to gamble, so you may find it odd that I’m a little bit on the cautious side. I decided to give the system a 2 week test on paper. I went through the process of doing the daily research, but I never actually placed any bets.

I looked at the racing form for the day, weeded out the horses to come up with the best picks, and kept track of what I wanted to bet “on paper”. The next morning I would get the racing results and see how I would have fared. Starting with a bank of $50, I was able to build my profits up to $121. over the two week period.

I decided to take the system into live action, and spent a couple of lunch breaks at the local Off Track Betting site which is right near my office. I followed the system, placed my bets for the day, and returned to work. The first week I did it, I ended up with an extra $127 in my pocket. Not a bad way to spend my lunch break, huh?

I’ve been using the system for quite a while now, and it’s been fantastic. Now I can afford to visit the track a lot more, and it’s great coming home a winner every time. What better feeling is there than that?

If you love punting on the ponies, I highly suggest you take a look at How to “Place Bet” on Favorites for a Living. It’s easy to follow, and the system put in place does work. I don’t make a living off of playing the ponies, but I find it a joy to make a little additional income when I go. It takes about 30 minutes of research before placing your day’s worth of bets, but I think it’s time well spent.

I’ve only used the system on galloping horses, but I’d have to guess it would also work on harness racing as well. The principles in place should carry over.
